  • Introducing Our New Regional Menu
We will be showcasing a new local producer's dish which will be competitively priced under £10. Available on Monday – Thursday evenings. The dish will change weekly but all will have a central theme – to support local, and regional, growers and artisans.

The first dish will feature a "White Horse" Steak Burger, with Rodwell Farm Suffolk Cheese, gherkins and salad served with Whepstead villager Rosie's Chillie Jam. Other dishes will follow including Suffolk Black Cured Ham - off the bone - on Bubble & Squeak with Horringer villager Gordon's free range eggs and Marinated Twice Cooked Suffolk Pork Loin, Potato & Apple Salad with grain mustard dressing. We have always tried to source as many ingredients locally as possible for the whole menu; with meat bought from Mr Clarke – Hartest’s Butchers, at least two dishes use local duck eggs and cheese comes from Rodwell Farm, Bayham, near Ipswich appearing, amongst others, on a plate of East Anglian Cheeses.

We believe that in tough economic times it is important that all money made in the region stays in the region. Customers choosing local dishes not only help small businesses like us but you are helping twice as the money is passed on to local producers. In any case, more often than not the quality and flavour of local ingredients is better than food that has had to travel hundreds of miles.

We hope you will come and try for yourselves. It also goes without saying that if you have anything that you think we can use for our menus I hope you will get in touch.
