We recently had a film crew from www.lovefood.com visit us at the White Horse filming Gary cooking up some of his favourite recipes on the menu. Click here to see Gary demonstrate his Skirt of Beef recipe (opens in a new window). Over the next few weeks he will also demonstrate The White Horse's Venison Burgers (great if you are planning a BBQ) and the ever favourite Lemon Curd Bread and Butter Pudding. Or you may just wish to come to the White Horse and let us cook it for you. The garden is now open and with this amazing weather we are having it is just the best place to enjoy a glass of chilled cider and a Venison Burger with chilli jam and chunky chips. Best Food Pub in Suffolk
After being open only eleven months The White Horse in Whepstead beat the last three finalists to take the winning title of Best Food Pub category in the 2010 EADT Suffolk Food and Drink Awards.
The awards (sponsored by the Southwold brewery Adnams) were hosted by BBC Radio Suffolk’s Lesley Dolphin, and cookery school owner and broadcaster, Mark David and were announced at The West Wing at Ickworth Park on Thursday 30th September.
Owners Gary and Di Kingshott are over the moon and put the success down to their dedicated staff, their loyal customers many of whom have supported them over the last 25 years when they previously ran The Beehive in Horringer and the fact there are so many suppliers in the region producing excellent quality ingredients.
